Whirlpool Freezer

Hi,

my whirlpool freezer is playing up. When switched on nothing happens but then if I give the freezer a jolt it all starts running. It then gets down to temeprature and then stops, slowly it will warm up again and the pump will not cut in (again unless i give the freezer a jolt).

Can't find a thermostat but there is a small circuit board which a friend has told me is where the thermostat is. Model is an AFB6640

Any suggestions greatly appreciated :confused: :confused:

It could be a bad start relay on the compressor, or a loose connection somewhere.

I can't find any info on number posted, check model number again.

Sounds more like a lose or bad connection OR your compressor is starting to go.

Unplug freezer
Unplug and check wires going to the compressor
Can be cleaned with electronics cleaner and a toothbrush
Make sure they are dry before reconnecting
Also check other connectors.

Could also just give the compressor a light tap next time it hangs up, to see if it is the compressor.
