Trying to Format My Pc to install windows vista

I have had too much trouble with my current pc. The last thing I did was update it and in the process of the reboot I had a sudden power failure needless to say my surge protector didn't protect my pc. Now it won't start up windows. it keeps giving me a system 32 driver error and won't start up. I am trying to at least get into DOS system to delete the HDD from there. Can anyone provide me with some help? :mad:

Disconnect the communication cables from the drives. Plug in the PC and try booting. When you see the prompt, enter BIOS and then delete the drive there.

well I got into the Bios and saw every option there... now where exactly do I look? ....I feel so illiterate right now. and these are things I definitely should know. :(

Are you trying to format the hdd to reinstall windows? If this is what you are looking to do, then the easiest way is to either use your windows cd or a DOS boot disk. You can't get into DOS from the BIOS, though you might want to change your boot order/sequence so that it tries the CDROM or floppy prior to the HDD. This way it'll try to boot from something before trying your hard drive where you get the error.

Have you tried booting into safe mode to check your device manager to figure out which driver might be causing the error?

What is the full error message?
At what point does the error message come on screen?
