My plan is to connect the Aprilaire 600 Humidistat R and C terminals to a 120v/24v transformer and my YORK Furnace HUM/NEUTRAL terminals (no A50 current-sensing relay)

Can someone pls check my pictures at http://www.geocities.com/codesampler/house/hvacwiring2.jpg

Please answer the 2 questions.

Thanks a bunch!

Well, I'm not a great HVAC person, however I did find this website that may help you. From what I read, it was important to know if the HUM terminal on your furnace supplied 120 or 24 volts.

Here is the website:
http://www.myhvacparts.com/Published%20Hum%20Educ.htm

You will have to agree to the Terms of Service to view the installation pics. The site will take you to another page, just scoll down to Humidifier installation near the bottom of the page.

Hope this helps.

Since it is AC it should make no difference

If you have an ohm meter you could check that none of the connectors have a short (0 ohms) to the transformer case. 99.9% of the time they do not.
