amana, sometimes ice, sometimes not

have a side by side. water and ice in the door. amana model # smd22tbw
ice maker is REAL slow most of the times. maybe one or two drops per day.
sometimes a few more and sometimes less.
any directions?

First thing to check is whether it is filling with enough water. If so, check it in 20 minutes to see if it has partially frozen yet. Check back in 20 minutes to see if it dumped the ice. If not, determine how it'll wait until it does. Also check to see if the finger of the ice rake are pushing on the ice cubes trying to force them out.

These details will help to discover the problem.

hello again. not sure if i described the problem right. what i mean in drops i mean in cycles. when it does drop ice it seems to be a full load, just that it seems to take all day or so to make one cycle, fill, freeze, turn and eject.
