Kenmore Dryer Shuts Off

My Kenmore Gas Dryer Shuts Off After A Minute Or 2. But Stays Running If You Hold The Start Buuton In?

The motor has a centrifugal switch that keeps the dryer running when the drum is turning. Usually it would stop running as soon as you let go of the start button. But since it runs for a short, it could be failing, or overheating.

These switches are not always replaceable by themselves. Sometimes you have to replace the whole motor.

Another thing to try is to make sure it isn't overheating. Will it run if you have it on a no heat setting?

tHERE IS A CONTROLLER BOARD INSIDE THE PANEL NEAR THE TIMER. tHERE IS A COMPONET (A RESISTOR AND A CAPACIT0R) THAT IS GOING BAD...THE REMEDY...REPLACE THE CONTROLLER BOARD.
