My wife has a Kenmore Series 70 washing machine that stops during its
wash cycle instead of just pausing.

I have replaced the washer's timer, with no change in symptom.

My wife can tap the rear of the washer behind the timer and then rotate
the selector knob 360 degrees righthand direction back to the place that
it stopped at, then a little past and the machine will most times continue
and finish its load successfully.

I suspect a intermittent contact at the timer's connector.

Any other ideas, people?

Okay, folks, no one replied to my post, but the wife is after me to fix this
thing so I read a bunch of posts that indicated the lid switch was something
to at least check. So with the wife's assistance (quizzing her further),
I got a kitchen knife and cleaned out some fuzz on top of the lid switch,
and pushed down on the switch with the knife blade and presto, the washer
which was stopped at the end of its wash cycle/beginning of spin cycle,
started the spin process, I had to hold down on the switch to complete
the spin cycle, however, the next cycle, the rinse cycle allowed me to
remove the knife blade and it seems to finish on its own now.

Tomorrow, I will replace the lid switch and test it again, but this could
be the fix people.

Thanks all for the posts.
