:( Ice froze in the bottom of the ice container. now it wont crush the ice. Ther is like this fork on the back of the unit that you can see when you pull out the container. I know this has to turn when it crushes the ice. I also know that it is suppossed to be really tight and hard to turn. It must be stripped. It turns very easily. Is there a simple repair that my husband can do to fix this,or do i have to fork out money to a repair man. I just spent $400 on repairs because a power surge burned out panels in the freezer and the fridge. I already cant dispense whole ice. I dont want to have to pay another $60 just for it to be looked at. Can anyone help?

This is one repair I haven't made. However, I really doubt it is tough to do. There is a motor behind there, similar to a barberque rotisserie. The fork is connected to that motor. The connector could have broken or the motor may have failed.

You can remove the rear panels and assess the problem. Since the ice frozen in the bottom, when you ran the crusher is couldn't turn and so the connector might have snapped.
