I have a Whirlpool ED22PW refrigerator purchased in 1993 and the water dispenser recently developed a drip at the nozzle. It went from a periodic slow drip to rapid drip last week. The Ice maker works fine and the water pressure in the house is good.
Recommendations on what to check or repair suggestions?

The drip is most likely the result of a leaking water inlet valve. It is fairly typical for them to fail after that period of time.
It is a fairly easy and inexpensive repair.

My POS amana did the same thing. I replaced the valve.
Mine was in the back where the water goes into the fridge. couple screws and seems that the new valve was maybe 20 bucks or so.
