Replaced Tub Seal...Washer Still Leaks ???

Hi, I am totally new here, so I appreciate any help that can be given to me.

I have a GE Prodigy Profile Washer, that started leaking last week, so I identified the leak, took the thing apart....ordered new parts, put the thing back together and it still leaks from the exact same place.

It is coming down from the top rim of the seal where it touches the shaft.

Is it possible I got a bad seal, or is there something I am missing here ?

Did I miss a step or something ?

Assuming the metal was all in good condition, no corrosion, then I'd expect that replacing the seal would take care of it.

Since it is still leaking from the same spot, I'd speculate that either tyou didn't install the seal properly, or the water is opriginating from higher up and just running done to this point where you saw it.
