I am experiencing ice cube problems (ice cubes are smaller than normal or hollow). I have well water in a house 30+ years old with existing copper pipes. The icecubes were really small and then stopped. Since then, I have replaced the shut off values as well as the connecting tubing (connecting to the water supply) and the inlet valve. I read somewhere else that it could be the ice maker mold thermostat and "make sure that it's cycling properly". My question is what is a normal cycling process, how often? Also what is the normal water flow supposed to be? Just a regular flow.

An icemaker can cycle up to four times an hour.
Small ice cubes can be a result of how much water fills the tray or it can result from improper cycling (which most often occurs because the fan is blowing air across the icemaker.
Some icemakers have an adjustment lever or screw to change the amount of water delivered.
How much flow you ask. Well your water line comes from the sink. That line should be able to fill up an 8-ounce cup in roughly 6-7 seconds.

I am experiencing the same problems with a Kenmore icemaker. The majority of my ice cubes are hollow. It will also no longer dispense whole cubes, only crushed ice. Hopefully someone out there will be able to offer suggestions on how to correct these problems! Thanks in advance. :D

I believe we have an article that specifically mentions hollow ice cubes.
But if not, the problem is likely that the evaporator fan is blowing air directly onto the ice maker causing it to cycle too frequently. Check that you haven't loaded the freezer in such a way to cause the air to be blown right at the icemaker.
