Freezer quit

Bought freezer a year ago and it worked. Stored it unplugged until last Saturday. Plugged it in and it does not freeze. Does not even seem to cool. I hear the motor or compressor/something running like it did before. I will blow out the thing tonight. Is there something that I should reset or reinitialize to get this to freeze again? It is a Sears chest freezer.

Empty freezers don't cool too well. You need to partially load it (try water bottles). Also it can 72 hours to get down to tempreature. Finally check the door seals to make sure they are supple and sealing tightly.
