I have a Haier compact refrigerator in my bar.I lost power for about an hour and when te power was restored the refrigerator wont cool now.The motor in the back was hot so I unplugged it.I let it cool off and plugged it back in but it still doesnt work. The refrigerator is only about a year and a half old.

Howdy Jayman,
Does the compressor run at all. If you plug it in the compressor should run. If the compressor is not running then most likely the start relay has been fried by the power outage. The relay is usually located on or near the compresor under a tin cover. You will also want to replace the hard start capacitor at the same time you do the relay. Be carefull removing the cap. They can store a pretty serious charge of electricity that can hammer you worse than a tazer.
FYI Refrigerator compressors are usually hot to the touch when they run. Not scalding hot, but hot enough to make you want to take your hand off.
Hope this helps. :)

My compressor turns on briefly and doesn't stay on long enough to cool. I believe the overload is tripping. I'm trying to determine if the overload relay is bad or if the compressor has a problem causing the overload to trip?

My compressor has between 10-15 ohms across the leads coming out. Some troubleshooting steps said it should be zero ohms. Should I assume the compressor is bad or is this resistance within tollerance?

Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks
