RCA washer won't agitate properly

I have a RCA washer when it goes into wash cycle/ rinse cycle the whole drum spins with the agitator and the drum will not stop when you open the door like the brakes are wore out is this worth fixing and is it easy to fix Thanks

So it agitates, but the drum spins? If so then it sounds like the drum brake is out. If the washer is more than ten years old, I'd consider replacement; even if the brake repair wasn't too expensive.
