Freezer coils heating

I have a Kenmore side-by-side that started leaking. I caught it once and saw that the coils that do the cooling were red hot, melting the frost they had created which was leaking onto the floor. Shortly thereafter I started getting a problem with the icemaker displaying an error and not making ice. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

That's the normal Defrost Electric Heater cycle.. sometimes for 10 minutes every 8 hours

Depending on model number.....
