I have a Maytag stackable S1000 washer/SG1000 dryer combo that has a faulty lid lock safety mechanism. I have replaced the small switch, and cleaned the mechanical parts, but now need to replace the solenoid. As you may know, the solenoid is no longer made. This is the touch control version. I get the "IE" error, and the machine will not run. The machine has been good for 16 years, and I would like to get a little more use out of it if I can.
I would like to bypass this whole safety arrangement. Does anyone know how to rewire the lid lock/sensing mechanism so that the machine will work without it?
Thanks

If you can read schematics then give this a try. It should bypass the safety devices. Although I strongly recommend that you do not do this. After all it is a safety feature.

Hope this helps.
