I have a Maytag Performa electric dryer (model # PYE2000AYW) that will not continue to run. It dried a couple of loads and then wouldn't run any more. When I checked, I found the thermal limiter was blown. I replaced the thermal limiter and the high limit thermostat and it ran fine for several loads. Then the same thing happened again. So I replaced the thermal limiter and high limit thermostat again, and again it ran for several loads and then the same problem.

What am I failing to see here? Everything else checks out ok with an ohm meter.

Thanks in advance for any insight.

Check/clean the Vent.

Should be 4" rigid metal

NO plastic
NO PVC
NO screws

Check for good air-flow (bad Blower Wheel ?)

With and empty load, Timed Dry, High Heat, the output temperature should cycle somewhere between 135F and 160F.

The vent is clean, and it's the proper size and material. I'll get a thermometer and check the outflow temperature.

Thanks.
