The compressor get hot and shuts down about every month. I have to turn it off and allow the compressor to cool, before I can turn it on again. Have kept the coils clean. Not sure what the problem is.

The Compressor has it's own Thermal Overload which will start back up when it's cool.

In normal room temperatures, if the Doors are not opened, it should normally run about 35% to 50% of the time, which would be 1 hour ON, then 1 to 2 hours OFF.

Thanks, now I need to find out what is causing it to overheat from time to time.
Oh, message also. The person says it won't cool until he unplugs it.

How long does it run ? 100 % ?

How does he know it's not shutting itself off (and cooling off) at any given time ?

How long does it run ?

reply - It runs for about 30 days and this happens about 100% of the time before cutting off.

He has not tried leaving it on to see if the compressor will cut back on.
He says when he sees everything defrosting he simply unplugs it and waits. Guess maybe he will wait next time unless the problem by the continual cutting off from overheating can be remedied.

Thanks for hanging in there

- Sounds like its running normally with no extra running time for about 10 to 30 days, say it varies.

Leaves it off about 4-5 hours.

When it does mess it, it short cycles and buzzes for about 10 seconds, then cuts off. Then about 10 minutes later it comes back on and tries it again and does the same thing.

Thanks for hanging in there. rick

It sounds like the Compressor may be it's last legs... or the Start Relay / Overload device on the Compressor...
