Whirlpool Model LA9100XTW0
Newbie here.... When I manually rotate the wash selector switch nothing will start - no rinse, spin, wash, fill, etc... I get a buzzing noise but no action, I wasn't sure if the switch is bad or something else. Any ideas.
If it is the switch, new one are ~$110 online. Any other lower cost options ??

where's the buzzing noise come from, the Timer Motor or the Water Inlet Valves ?
Is the water turned ON ?
Did you try it with different Wash Water Temperature Switch Settings ?
It won't spin when Dial turned to Spin ? (sounds like a bad Timer or loose Connector Plug on Timer)

Thanks for your quick feedback !!
Buzzing noise comes from the switch/timer. (I replaced the water inlet valve about 16mos ago.)
Water is turned on. The water fill sensor works but it stops when hits level.
Water won't drain but if I bail some water out I can reset the water fill switch and it refillls, so I thing the inlet valve is Ok.
Nothing else works - wash cycle, drain, spin, rinse, etc.
Any suggestions on online parts ? I usually buy locally, but they never take back parts if they don't solve teh problem.
Thanks again, looking forward to your response.

It could be the Timer or the main Motor
If you could do some voltage tests...

RegUS_PatOff,
Thanks again for the quick response and details.
Sorry, but I'm mechanically orienated so looking at the timer switch schematic is a little confusing.
What voltage should I be looking for and at which contact points on the timer switch terminal block ? Or do I need to access the motor to check the voltage initally ? Sorry, that I have more quesitons than answers.... :o

although, if there was voltage at the motor, it would run, or hum...
sounds like it may be the Timer.
Did you look to see if any wires / terminals on the Timer are burned ?
On the Motor, check the voltage (from each of these wires) to the chassis (ground)
