I have an upright Kelvinator freezer that has stopped working. If I open the door for about 30 seconds and then close it I can hear a "click" like the compressor wants to start but nothing happens. I am hoping that this could be a fuse that is needed or something minor.

Kelvinator model #MFU09M28WI

I appreciate any advice.

Thank you.

No it is not a fuse, it is the overload and relay that is mounted on the compressor. Or, the compressor is locked up. If the refrigerator is not to old, I would replace the overload and relay. If the frig is getting old, I would replace the overload and relay with a hard start kit. The kit has a capacitor, that gives the compressor an extra kick on start up only, and it is real easy to wire in. The part # is RCO-410. Tom www.applianceeducator.com
