I have a Kenmore 90 series washer( Model 110.26912691) that will sporadically agitate in the wash and rinse cycle . By sporadically I mean it will work sometimes and sometimes not. If I play with the settings dial sometimes it will agitate and run through the wash cycle properly but may not agitate and run through the rinse cycle properly and then visa verse. Other times if I stop the wash cycle and restart it with the start/stop dial, (after it adds a little water to the tub), it will work properly. And sometimes it just works properly in all cycles. Sometimes it will not spin in the spin cycle either. It seems to have this problem in all modes i.e. permanent press mode, gentle mode, etc. I can hear the timer working when it is not agitating and then it will go to the next cycle and drain or refill properly.
I have mechanically checked the lid switch by using a screwdriver to hold down the switch and it seems to be working fine.
I have had this worked on once before for the same problem and the tech said he had to reset it or there was a loose wire, per my wife, as I was not there, I don't know what he did. He took the dials and the front panel off to do the repair. Could this be a control board problem?

when it's not working correctly .. is the Wash Motor running ?

I'm not sure what you mean by wash motor, but when it doesn't agitate nothing happens. The cloths just sit in the water, the timer clicks and then when the cycle is timed out, it drains and starts the rinse cycle and so on.

The main Motor, as opposed to the Timer Motor...

I can't find a wiring diagram for that model, but it could be a bad Timer.

Thanks, I will see if I can find a wiring diagram and will post the link if I do.
