View Full Version : Kenmore gas dryer mo # 11070802990 (whirlpool)

Dryer is not consistently heating(sometimes it does, most times it doesn't); drum rolls and timer runs. From what I have already read around on here, it may be the gas valve coils. All of my searching online has not lead me to a diagram of parts to know where and possibly how to replace the part. Would love to make this my weekend project for early Saturday morning! If possible, tell me also how the diagram was found( are you enrolled in a special site?)

Dryer is not consistently heating. From what I have read it may be the gas valve coils.
That is a good possibility depending on how the dryer's ignitor is acting when it isn't heating properly. Those solenoid coils are famous for working once or twice but failing after in use a while.

They are mounted on top of the gas valve. I haven't seen any instructions online for performing that job but on your model the whole dryer front panel will need to be removed to access the gas valve assembly. You can see what the gas burner looks like at the following link:
