KitchenAid Not Agitating/Spinning

My KitchenAid washer KAWS850GQ1 (direct drive) is not spinning or agitating. I have checked the following:

- Drains okay
- Motor spins (removed pump, started washer, and can see shaft spinning)
- Capacitor okay (tested with new one)
- Motor coupling okay - Rubber disk is a little worn, but the two white disks are okay
- Removed softener holder and inspected dog-ears, and they are okay

Looking at online help suggests that problem is in gear box. Is there a way to confirm this without calling a repair man?

Does It Agitate At Normal Speed Than Stop When It Reaches A Slower Speed? Check The Lid Switch For This Problem... And Make Sure That The Plastic Studs Of The Drive Coupler Aren't Broke... Even Though The Rubber Part May Look Good, If The Studs Are Broke It Wont Spin Or Agitate....k
