Does anyone have a recommendation for a universal remote?
I tried an "All-In-One" which "worked" but I can't say I was happy with it. It seems that no matter what, I have to revert back to the manufacturer's remote for some function my universal can't execute.

The Phillips ProntoPRO is highly recommended. It's got a lot of features, but you have to be ready for a new hobby to program it. You could easily spend fifteen to twenty hours in setup time customizing it. It has personal computer based software to design the user interface (UI) and to program InfraRed (IR) codes, and USB load of the design to the remote. The USB connection to your computer is very nice. It's one of those things you end up doing in the wee-hours of the morning after EVERYONE (including my wife, who just laughs at the process, but LOVES the results) has gone to bed.
I would recommend it, but with the caveat that you have to invest time into it!

Thanks for the recommendation. Although I didn't specify a price range, the Pronto Pro is in the stratosphere compared to my budget.
Can anyone recommend something in the sub $200 range?
Sony Remote Commander 1000 or the 2500 both are very nice . They are capable of controlling up to 18 components, and have a learning feature that allows you to learn fron the original remote.1000 can be had for about 70.00
2500 for about 150.00
