View Full Version : low current on electrical branch
What could cause low power or current on an electical branch. All my other lights and outlets work except for one branch. There seems to be too little power/current to run most things I plug in. There is still a little power to make lights glow extremely dim. It happened during a rain storm. Before I went to sleep it was working fine. When I woke up ...no power.

Hmmmm, could be a lot of things. Not sure if a rainstorm would cause it. I would suspect one leg of the 120 volts is missing, but since you mentioned the problem is limited to just this one branch circuit leaves me mystified. You might check all the connections in each electrical box on this circuit. Of course, turn the power off before doing so. It sounds like a loose/broken neutral. I've run into that problem with older backwired receptacles. Good luck and be careful! :-)
