Whenever it is cold outside my front porch light doesn't come on. It also doesn't help that my ceiling fan is somehow wired with it as well. I can't have my ceiling fan and front light on at the same time :-)

Anyway I'm just concerned with the cold weather light not working thing for now. BTW my home is about 100 yrs old.

I'd be concerned about a loose wiring connection that is affected by the expansion and contraction of material as the temperature changes. Loose connections can lead to sparking and fire. I would resolve this problem now or hire an electrician to do so. It may be simply the socket of the fixture which, is probably minor, but you should address the matter for your safety.
