Gibson refrigerator needs kick start

I have a rerigerator that I want to repair. I found out that it works when I was trying to move it and all of a sudden it turned on. It instantly started getting cool in there and I thought it was fixed. I went back to check it and it was warm in there.

I figured out that all I have to do his hit the refrigerator on its side to get it started. But after it reaches its deisired temperature it turns off and will never turn back on when needed. I have to hit it every time I want it to turn on.

Do you know what needs to be replaced?

Well, hitting it to make it work suggests a poor electrical connection somewhere inside.

However, the fact that it will run until cold and then will not restart suggests a problem with the start relay.

Electrical problems can be difficult to run down. On the otherhand, testing and/or replacing the start relay is pretty easy.
