Ok, well our home is only 3 years old, so we weren't expecting problems any time soon.

We have 3 toilets in our home, but the problem is only with one of them. If flushes, and only partially drains. Any toilet paper or whatever does NOT drain at all.

We have plunged, we have used a snake (an auger)...and still it doesn't fix it. It hasn't overflowed...and after we use the auger or plunger, it flushes and drains throroughly, as it should.

We don't know what to do. One thought was getting a new toilet...but could that really be the case when it's only 3 years old??

I suggested calling a plumber, but go figure, my husband is totally against that idea. I guess he'd rather have our guests 'go' elsewhere...

Thank you in advance.

ETA:
Ps --- For the record, we tried the ol' "hold the handle" trick, but it doesn't work.

For starters
I would suggest you make sure your tank is filling up to a high enough level. I adjusted mine trying to save on water and it did exactly like you describe yours when I had it adjusted at the low mark. I raised it up some and it's been fine for months.

I actually read that here on these boards...so we tried that...and nope, that doesn't fix it...in fact, all it did was cause more water to sit in the bowl!!

Any other suggestions?

I once saw one that had a toothbush wedged out of reach from the top and had to be taken out by unbolting the toilet and reaching it from the bottom. I've also seen flossing and the holder flushed down a toilet. The holder was stuck in the toilet with the floss material probably reaching the road. If you take the toilet out maybe you'll find something stuck in it.
