My new shower head continues to drip constantly. Do I need to replace the on/off handle?

lisa i would need to no if you have a spout also is this a tub and shower or just a shower? also if its a single handle,double,triple let me no and i can tell you what to do next thanks master plumber terry
It is just a single handle in a shower only. Lever turns clockwise from hot to cold.

you would need to replace the stem or cartrige if its a delta it would be the same process i told you about the kitchen faucet. if its a moen it is easy you would take handle off there will be a clip holding caetrige in place pull it out pull entire cartrige out put new cartrige in replace clip and handle your done note make sure you ture water off at meter terry
I finally got out the old cartridge. After heating it with a hair dryer then pulling on the cartridge (advice from my Dad). I have installed the new cartridge, not leaking anymore. However, the hot water pressure is low.
What is up with that?
