I have a freezer over fridge in my garage that quit cooling. I have checked the temp control and have .3-.5 ohms at one end and infinity at the other end or off position. But when I put the knob anywhere in between, I still get the .3-.5ohms. If this is a potentiometer, wouldn't the resistance increase as I turned the knob towards the off position? I also checked the defrost timer and did not get continuity with any pins to the common or 3 pin. Even after cycling the timer until it clicked, not continuity to any pins. I thought this was the problem so I bought a new defrost timer. Checked it before installing and it reads like the original one. Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks!
