Whirlpool Estate Refrigerator drain is located in center rear of freezer under coils. I have flushed the drain with baking soda and water. It drains fine. However in a months time water freezes at the top of the drain and under the freezer pan. Then floods the Refrigerator. Once the ice is removed from the top of the drain it flows fine. Any ideas?
Thank You
Andy

The only thing I can think of is mabe that the drain is not draining fast enough and it slowly freezes until it stops up. It could be partially blocked with dust, mold etc. The drain can be blown out if you have a tube to put in it so your can blow or put compressed air to it.

I have always had luck with bending the defrost heating element downward, just enough to where it keeps the defrost drain pan nice and warm when it goes through the defrost cycle... try this and see how it works for you...
