Maytag dishwasher will not spray

What could I check or fix if Maytag dishwasher will not spray in "wash mode". Tub fills, sounds like motor (or pump) is running during wash cycle, but no spray comes out any of the spray arms. It does appear to be working properly during the rinse cycle (it does spray!). Any suggestions would be appreciated. Mike in TN

I'm having the same problem with my Whirlpool dishwasher :p . I posted this evening (10:15 PM EST) the very same question.

Maybe we could collaborate answers if we individually receive answers. Just for FYI, I've printed two articles that may help you (as well as me .. I haven't tried the directions yet):

"How to Check the Drain Hose" and "How to Check the Drain Valve"

While these two articles from Acme How to.com may or may not help us, they can be worth a try. I'll try to troubleshoot from this end sometime this week and let you know what I come up with. If you come up with something from either a response you've received or something on you've come up with independently, maybe you could help me out as well?

I wish you luck as I realize how dependent we've become on our appliance conveniences! :D

Ok, I have the same problem except my dishwasher is a Whirlpool :rolleyes: Everything seems to be working fine except it has no pressure and doesn't spray from the arms. I have been looking for the atricles you said you found and I can't find them :confused: . I am new to this site so I am sure I am overlooking them. Can you tell me where they are please? Thanks...
