washing machine leak

I found a leak where the shell front and the shell back are connected. It is at the most bottom connection. Will tightening that screw solve the problem?There seemed to be some play in it. Could the seal be compromised.This a front loader Kenmore washer.

I can't think of what you mean by shell front and shell back. If you could add some detail about where exactly this occurs, that would help.

Any chance you could post a picture, that is always helpful.
