Maytag gas dryer

I have a Maytag gas dryer that when you go to turn it on, it makes a loud buzzing sound. Can this be the power switch or something else?

You didn't say whether the dryer works other than the buzzing. Some models have an end of cycle buzzer and some have an open door buzzer.

You could try drying on other settings to see if it still buzzes. If it doesn't run, check and/or test the door switch.
