:o I have a Kenmore dishwasher. This thing is NOISY!! I think its the motor, but I am not sure. Is it more cost effective to just buy a new dishwasher? Or how easy is a new motor to put in? Thanks

Not an expert here, but I've had noisy dishwashers before. It's not just the motor, the whole appliance contributes to the noise. Even if you replace the motor, I doubt it gets any quieter.

Some of the consumer guides, like consumer reports, give ratings on the sound level of the dishwasher. Some models are designed to reduce noise. Once I switched to a model with good ratings on the sound level, everything was quieter. I bought it at the Sears "Scratch and Dent" warehouse in Southern California, where they sell models discounted because they have a scratch, dent, etc., sometimes not visible once installed.

It was a higher end model, but with the discount about the same price as a less expensive "clunker."
