Gas dryer sounds like it's going to start but won't turn over

Whirlpool gas dryer sounds like it's going to start but won't turn over, it's done this in the past and I've waited a couple of days and then it works and works well. Let me know if you need any other info, thanks for any help you can give me.

Having the same problem here only with GE sold under the JC Penney brand electric dryer. I even opened it up and vacuumed it out completely, it seems if I remove belt motor and blower turn on easier and I let it run for a minute then I have to put belt back on and close it up again and its runs for a while then quits again and round and round I go!!! I have replaced heating elements, belts, etc on dryers but I'm guessing this may be the motor or blower, which will prob cost more than the dryer is worth. I may just end up looking for a replacement. (btw, have opened the blower side and manually turned the blower wheel and the motor/blower seems a wee :confused: bit tight and squeaks but does turn)
