Hi,
I've got a basic Whirlpool dishwasher which fills up with water at the beginning of the cycle selected, but the "sprayer" does not wash the dishes. The cycle shows progress forward until the rinse cycle, as the knob on the front moves forward as it should during the progression of the "wash" cycle. However, just before the "rinse" cycle, the knob stops and there is no further action from the dishwasher. Please keep in mind during the whole time of this cycle there is no action of washing inside the dishwasher.
Can you please help me in the dilemma of diagnosing my problem? I've printed two articles from this site in regard to checking my drain hose and drain valve as I know the water is not draining from the dishwasher. If one or both of these items are clogged, would this cause my original problem? Also, keep note, I do not have a garbage disposal installed in my sink - as I've heard should be installed for the dishwasher. Could this be part of my problem as well?
In advance, thanks for your time in replying to my questions. Your help is greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Dougie
