The arm on our ice maker has been pulled off often when the ice tray is pulled out w/out lifting the arm first (by the men, of course). Now I cannot get the arm securely back into the front hole - it hangs limp or falls off. The unit used to work ok when the arm came off but does not now (no ice at all). I will check all other components of course but, my question right now is: does anyone have any suggestions how to secure the arm in the front hole? Is this the type that has a spring that can be adjusted if I pop off the front panel as described in "how to test the shutoff switch"? Is it ok to stretch out the arm, would that work? My biggest problem really is that the front hole is almost impossible to find and I'm afraid to stick my finger in the hole (tho, if I unplug the fridge first, I would not be so scared, huh?)
Thank you. This is an excellent forum/service, by the way.
