hello. DYI Guy...saw that you'd answered a woman's water heater problem with a few questions of your own so that you could help her. She never responded. But i learned that I needed to give more info re my problem. Could you respond to me if I've given you enough info?

gas water heater is working. full of hot water when i'd drained some to remove sediment. water very clear. water pressure same as always but only 5 seconds of hot water then faucets cool to cold. home is well heated, radiator system working.
thanks, hisdad

I'm not DIY Guy but I was wondering about your problem.

I suppose it takes a little while for the five seconds of hot water to reach your faucets. Then your'e back to cold water. So that means you have cold then hot and then cold again? Does this happen with every faucet in the house? All sinks in baths and kitchen? Bath tubs and showers?
Can you feel the pipe coming out of the water heater? Does it start out hot and then go cold while the water is running.

DIY Guy may have some more questions but maybe these will help him diagnose
your problem.
