Maybe you could , this will sound cruel , but trust me it is not.
Have a 1 o r 2 wire fence put up with a small electric charge hooked up to it.
Say a 9 volt or 12 volt battery from a motorbike or car.
This does not hurt the animal , we have been using them for many years here.

That's interesting...probably not a good idea if you've got small children though. Although it would tend to keep the kids in the yard. Just kidding
My stepfather has a place in Oregon in an area that gets a lot of deer. They have changed their planting habbits, avoiding the flowers the deer like, things like tulips, etc. There's also chemical alternatives, both purchased and home grown, that are supposed to repel them.
The start of deer season seems to really do the trick though. Maybe post some signs early and let them hear some rifle fire.

I've seen some online places that sell dried coyote urine. You supposedly sprinkle it around and the deer will stay out (since coyotes are natural preditors of deer.) I've never tried it but who knows?

The solution I found that seems to work the best in preventing deer and small animals like rabbits, raccoons, gophers, woodchucks ... from destroying and damaging a vegetable garden and flower beds is this product I found online called Garden Defender. It comes in different sizes and is real durable. You can use it year after year. And it doesn't cost a lot either. You can find it here: www. gardendefender.com See what you think for yourself.
Readers: Note that this has been tagged as a probable advertisement rather than a user endorsement. The product is a 4 foot tall, assemble on-site fence.
