Post Kenmore washer

My washer spins but makes a loud noise while spinning. It just started doing this a few days ago. I can still wash clothes but I know its going to stop altogether soon. Any suggestions?

There are many possibilities for a "noise". If you can do some detective work and narrow down the source it will help with a diagnosis.

take the front cabinet off and look underneath the tub and you will see a long spring hanging. that is the balance spring. sometimes this comes loose by the screw that holds it comes off or the hole that it is lodged in is rusted, reconnect or attatch and it should solve your problem
hope this helps
