Default Dryer - Leaving spots on clothes

The following is a reprint from our Ask the Expert feature on AcmeHowTo.com

Question: Dryer is leaving brown spots all over my clothes. I cleaned the whole inside and vacummed it out. It is still leaving brown splatter stains. Thank you!

Answer: I'd double check whether it is really the dryer. Wash a white t-shirt and let it air dry. Are there spots on it? If so, you either have rust or a leaky transmission in the washer.

Otherwise, the dryer may have some rust, a pen may have leaked or some grease has found its way in. You can to try and locate it by wiping down the entire (every square centimeter) inside of the dryer with a white cloth. Frequently check the cloth for signs of the staining agent.
