Red face hot water tank Pilot Not Lighting SOLVED

we have a 1-year old hot water tank with a piezo electric-ignition pilot light starter. Turned pilot off to drain tank (re sediment). In spite of following all instructions, cannot get pilot to relight.

Any and all suggestions welcome. It's a Gemco brand 40 gallon gas water heater.

Thank you so much!
Mary (and Rob)

Problem solved - pilot light in the centre of the tank, at a significant angle above the view screen. It WAS lighting, we just could not SEE it lit.
YIKES.
Color me a tad smarter!
