Default Electric Dryer - Runs one load, then won't run for a while

The following is a reprint from our Ask the Expert feature on AcmeHowTo.com

Question: Electric dryer works, drys one load, then i cant get it to run. It does nothing.
Wait a while, then it runs again as if nothing is wrong.

Answer: If you run an unheated cycle, will it continue to run? If so, the problem is in the thermostats. I would head on over to the diagnostics page for electric dryers and follow the steps there.

could need to clean your exhaust vent tube also... if your not getting good air flow on the exhaust, it will heat up too much and not want to turn back on for a while.
