Refrigerator makes noise

I have a Kenmore side-by-side about 20 years old. It sounds as though birds are living it and chirping. What would cause this noise?

I would bet that the sound is coming from one of the fans and that the bearing in the fan is going out. Replacing either fan is not too difficult, follow the link at the top left of the page and navigate to the refrigerator repair section for instructions on how to replace the fan.
